Comedy Central Africa to debut first adult-animated series for Africans
Set to premiere on December 11th on Comedy Central Africa is a brand-new series called My Child: Teenage Mutant Azanians. The series is the first ever half-hour adult animated series produced specifically for Africans. The series is created by Nick Wilson and Steven Pillemer, with writing contributions from Nina Hastie, Trevor Gumbi and director Peter Heaney and already the website is comparing the show to South Park and your Adult Swim fare.
My Child: Teenage Mutant Azanians tells the story of Professor Afronaut, Africa’s top technocrat, as he pilots the maiden voyage of Africa’s first space tourism program, together with Africa’s top leaders and celebrities. While in flight, a cunning chimpanzee is released from his cage in stowage and in the ensuing bedlam the ape bites the spacecraft’s nuclear stabilizer. There is an almighty atomic explosion and all these leaders and celebrities are cross-mutated with adolescent animals. These animal-human hybrids return to Earth and are subsequently exiled to the land of Azania. It is here that Professor Afronaut founds the Nelson Mandela School for Gifted Mutants, with melodrama and comedy playing out amongst the characters with very different backgrounds and divergent personalities.
We are working on getting coverage on this series moving forward, so keep checking back for the latest!

Hi Ashley, thank you so much for reading and we love the feedback. Note that on that day we had 14th posts go up and only ten posts show on the front page, so it's possible the preview had already been archived by the time you got to it. One recommendation would be to add our RSS feed to your favorite news aggregator service like Feedly, this way you get all of the latest posts!
