Chris Parnell Assures Us “Rick and Morty” Season Five Will Arrive Sooner…But Why No Mention Of “Archer” Season 11?

TV Line is just terrible. Instead of understanding how the animation industry works, they jump right on the “it takes too long for new Rick and Morty” bandwagon. In any event, in a recent interview with Chris Parnell(“Jerry”), the voice actor had this to say about any long breaks in between new seasons of the show which may be a thing of the past as a result of the show’s 70-episode back order:

“[Dan and Justin] wanted some job security, and they wanted to know that the show was going to be around for a while so that they and the writers could get into some sort of momentum,” Parnell tells TVLine. “We’ll see less lengthy breaks between seasons going forward because of that. And it’s very gratifying to know we’re going to have all those episodes. Hopefully Jerry will be around for the duration. You never know.”

The article goes on to state how the average turn-around time for Rick and Morty is 20+ months without realizing that the time frame is actually status quo for most Adult Swim series save for Venture Bros. which takes exponentially longer to produce. Also, I couldn’t help but notice that fans of Rick and Morty seemed to be way more patient for new episodes regardless if it was the show’s fourth season premiere or the midseason premiere which happened last weekend (P.S. Justin Roiland says that was this seasons ‘Interdimensional Cable’. The only ones seeming to make a big deal about Rick and Morty lately are the click bait pressers (see: TVLine).

That’s the way I like it.

That said, if anybody at TVLine was actually good at their job, maybe they would have gotten us a status update on a new season of Archer of which Chris is also a part of and which is currently delayed as a result of COVID-19-causing production delays.

New episodes of Rick and Morty premiere Sunday Nights @ 1130 pm ET/PT, only on Adult Swim.
