BubbleCAN Review: Fugget About It ‘The Man from P.I.G.L.E.T.’

Spoilers Below

After a botched mugging and a ride-along with Special Agent Strait McCool, Petey decides he wants to become a junior officer. This causes Jimmy to take the mugger on to learn like the son he never had.

After a hilarious montage of failed criminal attempts, intertwining with McCool and Petey’s successes, Petey eventually becomes wise to the recent string of robberies.

Meanwhile, fed up with Theresa’s drinking, Cookie turns to the Virgin Mary once again for advice. Taking her advice, Cookie makes Theresa drink wine until she is sick, resulting in a mother/daughter drink along.

Petey arrests cookie for driving intoxicated and when Jimmy intervenes, he gets pepper-sprayed. Twice.

Petey is stripped of his badge for police brutality, and during Jimmy and Cookie’s stint in jail, Benny robs the McDougals.

Cheech and Jimmy go on the hunt and when Jimmy runs out of leads, he asks Petey for help – even resigning the permission slip in order for his son to become a junior officer once again.

While on the hunt for Benny, we’re treated to a buddy cop movie parody, with Jimmy dressed as Detective James Crockett from Miami Vice, and even references that classic Roger Murtaugh line from Lethal Weapon: “I’m getting too old for this shit!”

After the McDougal ladies’ night of drinking, Cookie is subjected to some footage that Gina recorded, including her topless mother sloppily eating a cheeseburger on the ground a la David Hasselhoff.

This becomes the real eye-opener for Theresa.

Meanwhile, when Petey and Jimmy track down Benny, it results in a showdown that channels Keanu Reeves’ Johnny Utah inPoint Break, not the first time the show has referenced that film!

Chocked full of pop culture references, even in the title alone, The Man from P.I.G.L.E.T.  was a great success in terms of entertainment and laughs.
