MUTINY ON THE BARTY
After Bart and Milhouse get in a heap of trouble at Springfield Elementary, they decide to run away to avoid the consequences. This causes them to stow away on Captain McCallister’s ship where eventually they get discovered and put to work as chefs. Turns out their food is SO bad, the rest of the crew throw not only Bart and Milhouse off the ship but the Captain, too!! Meanwhile, Marge and Homer are back at Springfield frantically put up posters all over town as do the Van Houten’s in an attempt to get any information on their missing children of whom the media presumes dead.
As such, the recently mutinied wash up on shore a ‘Monkey Island’. It doesn’t take long but Bart and Milhouse build a ship to get off the island with their Captain in tow but they don’t get all too far off the beach before the monkeys decide to swim on board along for the ride. For whatever reason Milhouse and Bart become designated chefs and yes…Bart, Milhouse, and the Captain all get thrown off Eventually, the three get found…by the media! Yep, the local news station had a helicopter in the area which picks up the three stranded and brings them home. For their bravery, Milhouse is given a key to the city and Bart is given…a back scratcher??
First thing’s first, this is the first issue of which I noticed the recently announced Bongo iOs app being prominently advertised throughout the pages. Second, if you are judging this issue solely on its cover….don’t because it doesn’t make sense. The cover has a bunch of monkeys with the entire Simpsons family on a beach which is nothing like what happens in the issue because Milhouse, Bart, and the Captain are on a beach with monkeys, not Homer. Other than that, #192 brought about a very enjoyable read through, with twists and turns and yes, monkeys. Definitely worth the pick up as its an entertaining read through that should surely help keep you occupied until the show comes back.
