Aniplex USA Makes A Slew Of Announcements At Sakura Con ’17

This weekend featured Star Wars, Easter bunnies, Vin Diesels, and SakuraCon, so fuck the risen Christ amiright?

Aniplex USA was on hand at Sakura Con where they announced a couple of announcements concerning English dubbings. For starters anohana – The Flower We Saw That Day is getting English dubbed for a release.

anohana – The Flower We Saw That Day tells the story of a group of elementary school friends – Jintan, Menma, Anaru, Yukiatsu, Tsuruko, and Poppo – who called themselves the “Super Peace Busters.” Following a tragic accident causing Menma to pass away, the group of friends slowly drift apart until one day, five years later, Menma appears before Jintan, who is now a freshman in high school. She has returned because she would like the Super Peace Busters to grant her wish… except she cannot remember what that wish is. Having been traumatized by Menma’s death, the gang must learn to work together to figure out Menma’s dying wish and hopefully rediscover their friendship.

 

The other big announcement is that Aniplex of America is going to be releasing the Blu-Ray for Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic and Magi: Kingdom of Magic. The home release will, in fact, have the English dub adaptation as well as all 25 episodes on five discs. Here are synopses of both:

Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic

The first part of the series follows a young boy, Alibaba, who is in hopes of gaining enough money to own a country. He must venture into the “Dungeon” to find secret treasures hidden deep within its labyrinth to achieve his dream. He meets a mysterious boy named Aladdin with an ability to summon a mighty blue spirit from a flute. Alibaba invites Aladdin on his expedition into the “Dungeon.”

Magi: The Kingdom of Magic

Equipped with a charm to mask his powers as a Magi, Aladdin arrives to Magnoshutatt to study magic, with another goal—to investigate the nation’s relation with the Al-Tharmen, the power behind the “Abnormalities of the World.” While training at the academy, Aladdin meets Titus Alexius, a prodigy from the Leam Empire, who also has the same charm as Aladdin’s. An all-new adventure big enough to change the world begins now.
