Adult Swim Greenlights Two of Three Cartoon Pilots From Late ’16
Did they make the right choices?
Last year, Adult Swim did another round, albeit smaller, of their Adult Swim Pilots program where fans get to watch pilots and vote on which ones should get full seasons on the TV network. Our options were:
Welp, Adult Swim made decisions on which shows to greenlight, and which to toss, and they definitely made the right decisions. According to Deadline.com, animated comedies Hot Streets and Apollo Gauntlet are getting picked up for full seasons by Adult Swim with Apollo Gauntlet coming this summer (!!!!!!) and Hot Streets coming in the fall. Here’s more info about both series and the aforementioned links are to the individual pilots that aired late last year.
- APOLLO GAUNTLET – Trapped in another world, a cop from Earth can finally fight crime the way he wants after acquiring talking magical gauntlets. Animated quarter-hour pilot created by Myles Langlois and produced by Six Point Harness.
- HOT STREETS – FBI Agent Mark Branski and his partner David French investigate supernatural phenomena, secretly aided by his niece and her cowardly dog, Chubbie Webbers. There will be alien invasions, government conspiracies, monster infestations, and more. This quarter-hour animated pilot is created by Brian Wysol with Seth Green, Matt Senreich, John Harvatine IV, and Eric Towner (Robot Chicken), Justin Roiland (Rick and Morty) and Wysol serving as executive producers.
