Adam West To Be In Five More Episodes Of “Family Guy”

We still miss him, but can we handle a new mayor?

Entertainment Weekly just ran an interview featuring Family Guy producer Steve Callaghan with the topic of discussion being how the long-running FOX animated series will proceed to post the recent passing of Quahog’s Mayor Adam West.

Long story short, Adam West WILL be in five upcoming episodes of Family Guy set to air this season. The more interesting tidbits of info that I gathered from the interview is that the producers have NO plans in bringing in anyone to imitate West or even Carrie Fisher, rather it sounds like there’s talk of leaning more towards the potential of a new boss for Peter at the Duff Brewery as well as a new mayor of Quahog. Who those characters will be are anyone’s guess at this moment and it doesn’t even sound like that would be something to get into for THIS upcoming season 16, instead, probably being something that will come to a head by the show’s 17th season.

In any event, the loss of Fisher and West are two gaping holes in the pantheon of Family Guy that will NEVER be filled, but I like the ideas of the producers trying and potentially going in a different direction altogether. The unintended consequence of these characters’ untimely passings is that it will force the producers to become more creative and come up with new and exciting ideas that the show is sorely in need of.

Family Guy returns with new episodes October 1st only on FOX.
