We are at the halfway point of our fair television viewing year and as such we thought it’d be bad ass to do a list of the highest scoring animated series of 2012…so far. After the jump, see who made the list with contributions made by all of our writers. Now to see who is number 1 on the best animated series in the first half of 2012.
At this rate we aren’t just talking about the best animated series, rather we are talking about the standards of broadcast television as we know it. No show on television is feared as much as South Park with popular groups like Scientologists, terrorists, and this season their primary objective…expectations. You see, all season long the producers of South Park did this thing where they would release a preview trailer of the upcoming episode, having terrible web sites like IGN comment on them, then BAM give us a story that is completely different!
That’s right…the creators of South Park make us bow to their will and we rightfully oblige because we know no matter what we are getting something funny and probably legendary. What’s a legendary episode?? A legendary episode is one where people talk about it for years and to this day we keep hearing about it. The Simpsons used to have that, as did Family Guy, but South Park carries the baton of the most talked about animated series be it on sites like Yahoo or CNN where they complain of controversy, or among friends while we are laughing hysterically at episodes like “Ziplining” or “Faith Hilling”. As such, number 1 on our site makes perfect sense for South Park, and just think….we are only halfway through the season. I’d like to tell you what you should expect from the producers, but then I would be a terrible web site like IGN.
